It's easy to see why people are so passionate about them - they're affordable, convenient, and typically have fast-paced plots that can doubtlessly entertain most audiences. They're also usually the kind of films you can watch with your kids or spouse or even watch alone on a lonely evening. However, there are a lot of horror movies out there that don't entirely live up to the reputation the genre has earned over the years. The majority of them turn out lame and disappointing or straight-up terrible and they don't live up to their dreadful reputation, and here's a list of some of those unfortunate horror movies that just didn't cut it! Now it is no question that there are plenty of movies out there that aren't as good as those typical horror flicks we've seen hundreds if not thousands of times. Even horror movies with truly shocking and shocking moments often pale in comparison to the many great horror movies they try to emulate Here's a list of some of those unfortunate horror movies that just didn't cut it: "Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1981)" (of 81) (Rotten Tomatoes): As we approached Halloween, we were expecting another great installment in the series. Instead we got an unnecessary remake whose concept was never compelling enough to work on its own. It's basically a retread of "Halloween 4-5" and nothing more than that. The film is nothing if not tedious and boring at times, without much in the way of scares, characters or dialogue. The Thing (1982) (Metacritic): An alien that eats and imitates other species, assimilating them to make other aliens, which has been discovered in the Arctic, is brought to an American research station. Instead of destroying it immediately, the Americans study it and inadvertently let it escape; the alien begins to assimilate everyone in its path. The alien forms take on various people at the station and attack them viciously and without mercy.
